Set up in about a minute

A home for
the study group that meetsin person.

One shared place for everything your group would otherwise chase through a chat thread.

No card, and no school, club or church needed behind you — just a group that wants to meet.

Who it's for

One tool, whatever your group studies.

Say what kind of group it is, and the app fits itself to it.

The wording, plan templates, starting jobs and leader tips all follow the kind you pick, and you can switch it later. Beyond the six below there is a kind for discussion groups, and “Something else” for any group that fits none of them.

This week, in four different groups

  • Book club · Chapters 7–12 · Hosting: Priya
  • Exam prep · Bio ch. 3 + set B · Explaining: Ana
  • Language group · Tema: la comida · Prompts: Luis
  • Bible study · Romans 8 · Leading: Dana

Bible study and small groups

Adds a prayer list that keeps answered prayers, an optional church name, and templates for a book of the Bible or your church's sermon series. Saddleback groups can pull in the weekly Talk It Over guide.

Book clubs

Split a whole book across your meetings by chapter, or by page count for books without tidy chapters. The starting jobs are hosting and leading the discussion.

Classes and exam prep

Count the syllabus back from the exam date, one unit a session with a review at the end, or work through a textbook with its end-of-chapter problems. Jobs include Explaining and Quizmaster.

Language exchange

Each session is a topic and a vocab list with conversation prompts, from ready-made themes for beginner, intermediate or advanced speakers. Someone is on prompts every week.

Professional and skills groups

Load a known exam outline such as PMP, AWS Solutions Architect or Security+, or your own modules, finishing on a practice exam. Jobs include Presenting and Quizmaster.

Homeschool co-ops

Share each week's lessons with every family, a lesson per subject or one unit-study topic a week. Jobs cover teaching, supplies and cleanup.

How it works

Less admin for the leader, less guessing for everyone else

For the leader

  • Invite with one link

Send it by text, email or the group chat. Join approval is your call, group by group: approve each request yourself, or switch it off and let the link bring people straight in.

  • Plan a whole term at once

Assign one week, or fill a whole series in one go: each line becomes its own dated plan, and This week always shows whichever is next. Add discussion or practice questions if you want them.

  • See who is ready

Your dashboard names who has not ticked off this week yet and sends them a nudge in one tap, never more than once a day, alongside who came to each meeting.

For everyone who comes

  • Arrive prepared

Open the plan, tick it done and jot a note before you meet, kept private or shared with the group. You see how many others are ready, not who is behind.

  • Every meeting in one place

The date, time and place, an "I'll be there", a reminder email the day before, a list of jobs to claim, and a board for "running late".

  • Food sign-up that rotates

Food has its own tab: pick a date, claim a snack or drinks slot and say what you are bringing. Whoever has gone longest without bringing anything is up next, so it never falls on the same two people.

A promise

We will never sell you a study.

Gather And Study does not host, produce, or license study material — deliberately. You bring the book, the syllabus or the series; we never charge for it or lock it to us.

Paste a link to wherever the material lives — the publisher, a course page, your church's current series — and the app points at it, never copying it, never putting it behind our paywall. No walled garden, because there is no garden.

A second promise

Your group's people stay in your group.

Member profiles hold real pictures of real families — kids, pets, the lot. Profiles, photos, the roster and your meeting address are visible to your group and nobody else, and anyone can remove their own information at any time.

The Find a group directory is opt-in: a group is listed only if its leader turns that on. Signed-in people see its name, town, when you meet, how many of you there are, your description and, for a Bible study that names one, its church — never the address or who is in it.

Why in person

What it is, and what it isn't

  • The room is the point. No video calls and no feed to scroll. The app handles the prep and the logistics so the time together goes to the conversation.
  • Nothing to install. It runs in the browser on any phone or laptop: no app store, no download, nothing to update.
  • Not institution software. No fees, room bookings or rosters of hundreds. It is sized for a small group that meets in person.
  • No ads, and no data for sale. There is no advertising business, and nothing about how this gets paid for depends on knowing more about you.

Questions

What people ask first

Do members need an account?

Yes, a free one. Whoever opens your invite link makes an account (or signs in) and lands on your group. If the link ends up somewhere it should not, make a new one in Settings and the old one stops working.

Can more than one person run a group?

Yes. In Settings, any leader can make another member a leader too, so planning, join requests and the dashboard can be shared.

Does it work for a one-off meeting, or only regular ones?

Both. Add a single date to the calendar, or set a rhythm and add a run of meetings at once.

Start with the people already coming.

If something about the way your group meets doesn't fit, tell us. It's early, and it's being built with real leaders rather than at them.
